This years conference will be organised by SJAM Sabah. Received a sms from one of the Officer from Sabah informing that this years SJAM National Conference 2009 will be held from the 20-24 November 2009 (tentative date) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Heard that there will be another Mount Kinabalu Hiking Expedition. So if your interested to go better start preparing ; )

Frankly speaking, I don't expect it to be anything more than just a fellowship programme, where its sole objective is to bring slightly more than a hundred people from all over the country to congretate and catch up on each other's stories since last year. I would be amazed if ideas are adopted with an open mind AND implemented.
I was privileged to be included in the organising committee of the Conference many years back which set to turn it into an impactful forum from a sleepy fellowship channel. We revamped, and we gave a new dimension to the format, but the improvement lasted only for 3 days, i.e. throughout the duration of the Conference.
Subsequent Conferences promised the same vision, but the momentum just die off after the closing speech...and it's now back to square one. Looks like the main objective has reverted back to the fellowship channel by default as it only attracts participation from those who're only interested about fellowship.
