On Thursday, I went to the Orthopedic Operation Theater, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh, I was surprised to see a few police officers waiting outside the entrance of the OT. Normally there will only be around 2 officers (if the patient is a criminal) but this time I saw more.
Anyway as I walked into the airlock area, I met some of the staff and asked why so many police present in and outside. The attendant told me "Ada kes bunuh" - "there is a murder case". I asked him back "What ! In the OT" . He replied "No", the murderer. Then the airlock door opened and came a young, good looking male, who is fair in complexion and calm looking being trolleyed out of the recovery area.
The I over heard, the police officer say "...3 orang dia bunuh" - "he murdered 3 people". Then I remembered watching the midnight news on tv.
The accused was cuffed to the trolley. He underwent a surgery, noticed stitches on his shoulder bones (clavicle). He looked calm and not a little fear or regret for what he has done can be seen. Or maybe due to the anesthesia given, he looked cool and calm!
He was un-cuffed and latter transferred onto another trolley to be brought to the ward. Noticed the linen was covered with blood. As he was being wheeled out from the airlock area, I was recalling back the news I saw the previous night. I remembered there were 2 adults and a child. How pity that a child had been murdered brutally and without mercy.
I over heard the staff talking saying that the accused was high on drugs, did not know what he did! He found the victims hiding in the toilet and he stabbed them in the toilet. Multiple stab wound was found on the victims.
Latter as he was trying to escape, he was caught and tied to a lamp post. I would not be surprised that he was given a good beating before he was handed over to the authority as I could see multiple bruising. Anyway he deserves it !
According to them, he is a former staff of Secret Recipe and got retrenched. - So after getting retrenched, I think he got himself a new job - robbing people and now it got him into trouble!
Anyway I met my Dr friend and we were chatting about the murder case. He will be going away to further his studies and now he worried to leave behind his wife and kids. Everyday when we see the news, there is murder, rape, robbery, etc.
I asked him, did they give the accused any anesthesia while he underwent the minor surgery. He told me yes, out of fear he might become aggressive.
In my mind, if I was the Dr. I would have strapped him onto the OT Table, and did the surgery without giving him any anesthesia. I would have given him, a feel of pain ! But they did not do it, and luckily I am not a Dr.
As I walked back to my car, I was angry and was thinking what has happen to the world! What has happen to our country? Has our education system failed? Is the morale and religious teaching not enough? Didn't his parents tell him the difference of right and wrong? How can a human being have the intention to hurt another fellow human being, a child and a mother, stab them to death.
My mind started to worry not only for my family members and loved ones safety but also for my members in SJAM. Are they safe ? Have we done enough to protect them ?
The accused looked innocent and don't even look like a drug addict. Can we TRUST the people we have appointed (to train and educate) to care for our members safety and welfare? So far nothing happen. But when it happens, it will be to late!

Let him face justice in court, though he may hv a solicitor to defend for him or pledge guilty, yet I do feel sorry for the victims.
Its becoming very common nowadays where children and woman are endangered by brutal and brainless living being. This reflects to the Malaysian educational system which is totally exam based. For instance, Pendidikan Moral in SPM level which failed for ages. As you can see thousands of students get A1 for their Moral paper but they themselves don't practise good Moral values on daily basis. Finally, they end up in places as mentioned in the post.
This comment is solely my point of view based on the current issue. Any kind of critism is kindly welcomed.
